According to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai has the highest number of doctors for every million people – the highest ratio of plastic surgeons per capita in the world. Among the most common cosmetic procedures in Dubai is liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, and rhinoplasty. Before making the decision to receive plastic surgery, there are some important factors to consider.
Firstly, choosing a qualified doctor is imperative. While doctors in the UAE are licensed with the Ministry of Health, and UAE Health Authorities, some have been found to be working as cosmetic surgeons, and providing treatments without having the right qualifications, facility, and training.
Secondly, after taking the decision to have plastic surgery, you should manage your expectations about the short, and long-term results of the procedure. Our bodies are constantly changing as we age, and the initial results from a cosmetic procedure may also change with time.
Thirdly, plastic surgery in itself is as risky as any type of major surgery that requires anesthesia. Consulting with a doctor about your health, and the associated dangers of undergoing plastic surgery is critical, and ultimately a life-long commitment that should be evaluated seriously.
Finally, you should stay away from doctors and clinics who promote extremely cheap offers for cosmetic procedures. If it’s too good to be true, then as a rule of thumb, it usually is, so don’t take chances with your health. Be diligent when you research about practitioners. Saving a few pennies here and there is not worth the physical, and mental agony associated with a failed cosmetic procedure.
Therefore, unless you are correcting a physical flaw or deformity, deliberate well before going under the knife.
