A team of researchers at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia   have successfully tested an artifical womb for premature lambs. Hopefully, if developed further, artificial wombs will allow human premature babies to transition outside of their mothers until they too can fully develop into healthy babies.

Premature babies will suffer from short and long-term health issues such as respiratory distress, immature brains, cerebral palsy, visual and hearing impairments, behavioral, and social-emotional problems.
