During Coronavirus pandemic, we are wearing masks and social distancing. Does it mean the end of cosmetic dentistry? Dr Akanksha does not believe so.

People wear masks. Does it mean the end of cosmetic dentistry?

Most of the people have asked, 'What is the future of cosmetic dentistry?' Should we start thinking of a career change or do something els, because everyone would be wearing a mask?

Yes, people are wearing masks when they are going out. However, there is another thing, in this world booming right now is digital thing. Everyone is having zoom meeting. Everyone is having Instagram live. They are having video calls. So most of the focus is going to be on your face. You are going to see her teeth all the time.

So it is I would say a booming industry. We will come out from that stronger, because people are going to approach us. They want to get it fixed. They want to get their smile to be enhanced. You are seeing it all the time. I would say more than before.

How can patients regain confidence to visit dental clinics?

They are definitely scared before they visit the clinic. But once they visit the clinic and if you see the change, that is not happening before. When they enter, there is a proper sterilisation of your shoes. Their hand, their mask is changed that they are taken directly to the operating room over there where everything is covered, the doctors are wearing full PPE, the nurses are wearing PPE.

I think that gives them more confidence that they are safe. Then before it's not that diseases were not there. But now they are more aware of it and when they come I think they have more confidence.
