Dr Santdeep Paun is a Consultant Nasal and Facial Plastic Surgeon and former Head of Department at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals. He is also the Medical Director of Symmetry Clinic, a private practice in London’s well known Harley Street.
Dr. Paun trained in Otorhinolaryngology in London with some of the UK’s most prominent surgeons of the time. He was awarded the highly prestigious Fellowship of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) in 2001 and spent time in Amsterdam, Toronto and Boston working with three leading international surgeons learning various aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic facial plastic procedures. He is the Inaugural and current President of the European Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (EBCFPRS) and was one of the first Board certified surgeons of the International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS). He is the General Secretary for the IBCFPRS and is on the Board of Facial Plastic Surgery UK.
Spending much of his time performing rhinoplasty and aesthetic aspects of facial plastic surgery, Dr Paun is also part of the craniofacial trauma team, a unique multidisciplinary service dedicated to aesthetic reconstruction following severe facial trauma. He has an active interest in teaching and is Chairman of the credentials committee of the EAFPS. He has a national and international reputation in complex rhinoplasty surgery and is regularly invited worldwide to lecture on all aspects of his work. He has written a multitude of book chapters and peer-reviewed papers on his various clinical interests. He co-runs courses in Rhinoplasty and Facial Plastic Surgery. He has recently written extensively on how to avoid complications with non-surgical treatment of facial ageing and is on the Medical Advisory Board for Merz Aesthetic pharmaceutical group.
Dr. Paun has been invited to work on documentaries for the BBC, is a well recognised opinion on nasal surgery for a variety of media outlets and has been quoted in written articles for major newspapers including the Sunday Times. He has featured in Tatler Magazine’s cosmetic and medical supplements where he was recommended as one of the best nose and facial plastic surgeons in the UK.
