Dr. Zouwayhed’s educational journey into the medical landscape started in the early 90s when he joined the University of Damascus’ School of Medicine and graduated 6 years later with a certificate of honor from the university. He moved to the United States of America post graduation, first to undertake his Internal Medicine Residency in Cleveland, Ohio and later to excel in his Pulmonary / Critical Care Fellowship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
During his time in the USA, Dr. Zouwayhed’s also served as a Hospitalist and a Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program at the Trover Foundation Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Kentucky. Following his exit, he moved to Oklahoma where he finished a fellowship in Pulmonary Critical care before working as a Pulmonary Critical care specialist at Mercy Hospital and Edmond Hospital in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
In parallel with his work as a physician, Dr. Zouwayhed frequently collaborates on medical journals and research papers, and has also participated in creating an education website for his residency program during his year as Chief Resident. His areas of specialty are Interventional Pulmonary, Chronic Pulmonary Diseases, Pulmonary Hypertension, Asthma and Pulmonary Fibrosis.
