Before joining The LightHouse, Dr. Kenneth Mitchell was a senior Consultant Psychiatrist in General Psychiatry in the UK NHS. His Consultant-level career began in Scotland in 2003 and then in London from 2012 – 2016. His lifelong interest in psychology and what makes people behave the way they do, combined with his medical training and qualification, led him naturally to train as a psychiatrist.
During Dr. Kenneth's consultant training he completed a one year part-time course in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which enhanced his skills in assessing and assisting patients in psychological ways.
Dr. Kenneth is known by his patients and colleagues as being very calm, warm, understanding and supportive, because it is in his nature to go out of his way to help others to overcome their psychological and emotional issues and lifestyle problems.

Dr Kenneth is an excellent psychiatrist.
Dr Kenneth is an excellent psychiatrist. He is kind, and empathetic, and I get the impression he is genuinely committed to providing a high level of care for his patients. I have been seeing Dr Kenneth for three years and actually tried to see three different Doctors closer to me but came back to Dr Kenneth because I felt he understood me best and had my best interests at heart. Thank you Dr, would recommend him highly

Dr Mitchell treated me as an inpatient in a psychiatric hospital in the UK several years ago. He has helped shape the person I have become due to his Kindness, Care, Compassion and Respect and also by teaching me Cognitive Behavioural techniques. I have Bipolar Affective Disorder which is now well managed and thanks to Dr Mitchell I am now living a happy and healthy life and I am also passing on those techniques and skills to others. Thank you
