Dr. Crystal Smith completed her MBBS and DLO from KMC Mangalore in the year 1995 and 2000 respectively. Prior to which she pursued her DNB from Madras Medical College, Chennai in 2002. Following her ENT training, she worked at multi- specialty hospitals in Chennai as an ENT surgeon where she performed a variety of ENT surgeries such as Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, septal operations, tonsillectomy, mastoidectomy, myringoplasty, tracheostomy, thyroglossal cyst excision, grommet insertion, rigid endoscopies and managed ENT emergencies like epistaxis, stridor, trauma, foreign body removal. She also performed diagnostic and therapeutic rigid endoscopies - direct laryngoscopies and oesophagoscopies and has experience with laser surgery in managing nasal obstruction.
Dr. Crystal joined the Madras ENT Research Foundation hospital as an observer for 3 months, which is a Centre of Excellence in Otorhinolaryngology and Cochlear Implantation, in particular. Also she worked independently in managing the out- patient department, in -patient admissions, emergencies and performed a range of surgeries at the American Mission Hospital. She is Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certified. She has been a part of numerous conferences and workshops to remain updated with the latest advances and trends in the field of Otolaryngology. Her key area of interest lies in Paediatric ENT and Rhinology. Dr. Crystal can converse in English, Arabic, Konkani, Tamil and Hindi
