Dr Sabyasachi Banerjee is an experienced Orthopaedic surgeon with a vast Clinical and teaching experience in India and the Middle-east, of approximately 20years.
He was an Associate Professor and Head of Unit at GCS (Gujarat Cancer Society) Medical College & Research Centre, in Ahmedabad, India and Consultant Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement Surgeon at Columbia Asia Hospital, Ahmedabad, before joining AZHD.
He did his bachelors and Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. In 2003, he was selected for the prestigious OREF (Orthopaedic Research & Education Foundation) Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. In 2007, he underwent a Fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction using Computer navigation under Dr Patrice Graf in Brest, France. Dr Banerjee believes that the most important virtue of a Physician and Surgeon is Compassion & Care, apart from surgical skills; and he works hard at achieving both. He has published his work and presented them in Conferences.
Areas of Interest:
Hip, Knee & Shoulder- Arthroplasty (Joint Replacement), Arthroscopy (Key hole surgery) and Trauma (Fracture management). He specialises in the surgical treatment of Major fractures of the upper limb and lower limb, apart from surgical management of Sports Injuries like Arthroscopic ACL Reconstruction. Although he is well versed in Joint Replacement surgery of the Hip and Knee, he is also passionate about Joint preservation surgery like Osteotomy in the right indication. He is also interested in Adult and Paediatric Orthopaedic Oncology, including management of Primary bone tumours and Secondary deposits.

My son had surgery at Al Zahra Hospital about a week ago. I was very nervous as any mother would be. We worked with Dr. Sadir Al Rawi and Dr. Banerjee, and both doctors and their teams were very professional, comforting, and helpful. It was our first time in a hospital outside of the U.S., and it was definitely 5 stars.
