Introduction to Dr. Ashish Soni
Dr Soni is a highly experienced British and American trained, board certified, Complex Knee and Sports Orthopaedic Surgeon. He relocated from London to establish a Complex Knee & Sports Surgery Unit at Mediclinic City Hospital. He is the founder of “The London Sports Surgery Clinic” based at Prestigious Harley Street in London. He also held a substantive NHS Consultant post at Olympic Park/Homerton University Hospital, where he was Director of Orthopaedic Education and Research.
Dr Soni has a high-volume tertiary level practice focusing on complex soft tissue knee pathology, hip/shoulder arthroscopic surgery and hamstring injuries and has performed in excess of 5000 procedures. Having served as team physician for Division 1 collegiate and professional teams in the United States, including the Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL), Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL), and Pittsburgh Ballet, he has extensive experience in providing the highest level of care to professional and amateur athletes. He has treated various Olympic athletes, players from Premier League football clubs, professional basketball players and cricketers and the majority of them have successfully returned to their previous level of sporting activity following surgery.
Dr Soni graduated in 2003 with honours. His surgical training started in London, following which he moved to Leeds for higher surgical training. After obtaining the FRCS, he completed a pre-CCT Knee Fellowship in Leeds. Thereafter he was accepted into a prestigious one-year Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship programme at the world-renowned University of Pittsburgh Center for Sports Medicine. He mastered the advanced arthroscopy skills of knee, hip and shoulder under the guidance of Dr Freddie Fu and Dr James Bradley. He also won the "Best Graduating Fellow" award from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr Soni is an award-winning researcher and innovator. He has developed surgical techniques and frequently delivers expert lectures internationally. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and his research has been presented at various national and international meetings. He has also authored numerous book chapters related to sports injuries and is a reviewer for orthopaedic journals. He is a keen educator and hosts advanced arthroscopy visitation fellows from all over the world.
Dr Soni believes in providing the highest quality evidence based operative and non-operative care to his patients. He prides himself in offering modern minimally invasive, state of the art solutions in a compassionate manner. Best Dr I have met
I had a life threatening accident where i landed in able hand of Dr Ashish Soni. I had multiple fractures which required surgery and fixing. When I met Dr Ashish Soni for the first time I was a bit hesitant as he looks very young. My 6 months journey was very smooth and comfortable with him. He did his best and not only he is an expert at his work but also good at making his patient feel comfortable . He was very careful to make a knife cut which was only minimum required and also aesthetically appealing. He alsomotivated me to start my exercises and take my accident easy. I will definitely recommend him to people of all ages and kids. I wish all doctors around were so good and made life of their patients easy.

A Meniscus expert! I was walking after surgery!
I did a lot of research when I was considering surgery for my torn meniscus, I came across a lot of different doctors whom I visited before finalizing Dr. Ashish as my doctor. There are a number of reasons for my decision and I hope if you have the same questions or concerns, this will help. 1. I was not sure about surgery, unlike other doctors I visited, Dr. Ashish read my report and was able to tell me that surgery was not needed as long as Im not active but was necessary for me to get back into sports and living healthy 2. He ran a full assessment and didnt show any signs of just forcing me into surgery but rather sat with me and explained everything to me. His analysis were new, no other doctor examined my knee the same way and this built confidence instantly. 3. He is super friendly and was very professional with the way he answers question. I HAD A LOT OF QUESTIONS. Other doctors told me that they know what they are saying and I need to do surgery without really answering my concerns (they were always in a hurry) 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, he is a meniscus expert, meaning unlike others he will actually try his best to save your meniscus rather than cut it out like other have suggested. This is really important to consider as you dont want to have other issues as you get older. A great doctor overall, I just hope that the hospital had a better process of outpatients as they were no follow up appointments or instructions given either on call or by email.

Best Surgeon Doctor
I have never come across any DoctorSurgeon who is so professional, specialized, qualified, knowledge and experienced. He is extremely competent, efficient, capable, friendly, dedicated and committed to his patients. I have had the best experience with the surgery of both my knees, with one full knee replacement and the other half knee replacement. In the initial diagnosis, he had an excellent suggestion for going only for half knee replacement. However, he clearly mentioned that the left knee looked doubtful for a half knee replacement and if at the time of surgery he felt that it would require full he would go ahead with the full knee replacement. Overall, the surgery went smoothly and it was a text book knee surgery. The experience after the surgery was also amazing with Dr Ashish Soni regularly following up to check the progress. He has always been extremely reassuring and helping me fully recover. I would highly recommend Dr Ashish Soni as a Surgeon Doctor.
