Dr. Obada Barry moved to the United States of America to undertake the National Board of Dental Examination in 2010. He finished his postgraduate specialization in Oral Surgery, Implantology and Traumatology from the world-famous Bonn University Hospital, Germany in 2015. He received sub-specialty certifications in Implantology from the German Board of Oral Implantology (DGI) and the Dental Association of Hesse, Germany. Dr. Barry is expected to receive his research doctorate in summer 2020 from the prestigious Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universit?t in Bonn.
Dr. Barry specializes in the full spectrum of oral surgical procedures such as wisdom teeth removal, microsurgical oral operations, treatment of oral pathologies in general and medically compromised patients. He is also adept at the complex reconstructions of atrophic jaws (bone blocks, Shell/Khouri Technique, sinus lifts etc.), single and dual jaw rehabilitation with dental implants, treatment of implant-related diseases, tooth transplantation and related orthodontic treatments, sedation of phobic patients using nitrous oxide and the intravenous sedation. He has researched the use of different laser techniques to monitor the perfusion of the oral mucosa. He has also conducted a systemic review of the long-term results of vertical bone augmentation for implant placement.
Dr. Barry has attended numerous dental conferences including the International Osteology Symposium in Barcelona, Spain, 2nd Congress on Tooth Transplantation, Rotterdam, Holland and the Bone-Ring Congress in Frankfurt, Germany. He has won poster presentation awards at ITI World Symposium. He has published several scholarly articles in renowned medical journals like the Journal of Applied Oral Science and the Journal of Peking University - Medical Sciences. He has also supervised clinical and didactic training of the undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as the advanced surgical training of other oral surgeons during his term in Germany.
