I would like to express my sincere thanks & appreciation to Dr. Amit Kumar & his team of nurses at BR Medical Suites; who recently performed a surgery (laser & removal of varicose veins) on BOTH my legs for my varicose veins. To be honest; I was very scared & skeptical to get this surgery done; because many people gave me stories on how painful it would be, etc. & that made me suffer for a couple years before I couldn't bare the pain anymore & my condition only got worse. After meeting with Dr. Amit Kumar & after he examined me, he advised me on getting the procedure done & assured me that the surgery was nothing like what I have been hearing. I was convinced & decided to get the surgery done. I still can't believe how smoothly the surgery went and I feel so much better now and lighter on my feet (Day 3 after the surgery). I was able to walk immediately after the surgery and I was discharged after a couple of hours & sent home. The care and support I received from Dr. Amit Kumar & his team of nurses at BR Medical Suites in Health care City was nothing short of "First class" and highly professional. I would highly recommend anyone who has varicose veins; to go and meet with Dr. Amit Kumar and get the procedure done. Believe me when I say this "You will be in very good hands". Dr. Kumar is a Vascular Surgeon, originally from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio. Prior to which he completed his General Surgery in New York, USA.

 
Most recently he has worked as a Consultant surgeon at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi as part of the team which moved from Cleveland to Abu Dhabi. In addition to his work at Mediclinic City Hospital, he is also Assistant Clinical Professor (Surgery) at Columbia University, New York.
 
He treats a broad range of vascular and endovascular conditions using the current minimally invasive endovascular procedures including balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, stent procedures and open surgical repair including bypass for conditions such as varicose veins, wounds – especially diabetic feet, as well as aortic aneurysms, dialysis access and carotid artery stenosis.
He has continued his research interests while in the UAE and is on the panel of the international TASC guideline committee as well as being on the editorial board of the journal “Vascular.” He has recently published a vascular textbook “Handbook of Endovascular Interventions” with Springer and which is available online.
 
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Surgery.
