Dr Saeed Rafii is a UK trained and board certified Consultant Medical Oncologist. After completion of his primary medical degree he was trained in Internal Medicine followed by subspecialty training in Medical Oncology in two of the most prestigious cancer hospitals in the UK ? Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. He then completed clinical fellowship in early phase clinical trials at the Royal Marsden hospital, London and received his CCT (certificate of completion of training) from the UK General Medical Council.
Dr Rafii was subsequently appointed as associate professor and consultant in medical oncology at the University of Manchester and the Christie hospital, one of the largest cancer hospitals in Europe. He then moved to London and worked at University College London Hospital and Oxford Cancer Network as consultant medical oncologist. As well as working in the UK national health services (NHS), he was medical director at Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Harley Street in London. Dr Rafii also holds a PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular cancer genetics.
He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK, European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and American Association for Clinical Oncology (ASCO). In 2018 he was elected as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of UK (FRCP) for his outstanding medical and research activities.
With over 20 years of experience in medicine and cancer medicine, Dr Rafii is highly experienced in diagnosing and treating all solid cancer patients with variety of treatment modalities including targeted therapies, immunotherapies, chemotherapies, hormonal therapies and combination of these agents. He is particularly an expert in treating Breast, Lung, Bowel and Gynecological cancers. He has an excellent bedside and clinic manners and his approach in communicating with patients is favored by many patients and their families. He is expert in cancer immunotherapy and is routinely asked for his second opinion on difficult to treat cancer patients.
Dr. Rafii has published over 40 peer reviewed scientific papers in prestigious medical and cancer journals and has presented in various prestigious international oncology conferences.
