- Dr. Al-Bashir is an American-Certified General Surgeon. He is currently the director of breast care center and breast fellowship at Tawam hospital. He is an adjunct associate professor at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAEU.
- Dr. Al-Bashir joined the staff at Tawam Hospital in 2007 and was the Co-Director of the General Surgery Residency Program from 2007-2010.
- Prior to 2007, Dr. Al-Bashir worked at Jersey City Medical Center (New Jersey) and Maimonides Medical Center (New York). He was the Site-Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at Jersey City Medical Center. In addition, he was an assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York).
- Dr. Al Bashir received his B.S. with highest honors in Biochemistry from CUNY-Staten Island in 1992 and his MD degree from Down State Medical School (Brooklyn, New York) in 1996. He completed his general surgery residency program at Downstate in 2001. He was certified by the American Board of Surgery in 2002 and was recertified in 2011.
- Dr Al Bashir has many ongoing IRB approved breast cancer research projects. He presented many papers in national and international meeting and has many publications. He participated in national and international conferences as an invited speaker.
- Dr. Al-Bashir is a fellow of the American college of surgeons and a member of the American society of breast surgeons and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He was the recipient of many awards, just to name few: Jonas E. Salk Award & Scholarship (1992), Chandler Mc Cuskey Brooks Annual Award in Physiology (1992-1993), Thomas W. Pollock Award (2001), Teacher of the Year Chief Resident Award (2001). He was chosen as best surgeon by the department of critical care medicine at Tawam Hospital in 2010 and received the exemplary contribution award by department of surgery at Tawam Hospital in 2011.

Dr Mohammad performed a partial mastectomy, and after discovering a 0.1 mm tumor during the post-op, radiation therapy period, also performed a lumpectomy for my mother-in-law. He was very helpful, kind, and communicated effectively. Dr. Mohammad was always reassuring, and gave a positive outlook on all proceedings. He was also very accessible by phone whenever we needed any clarification.
